Use them together
Turn on assistant access in Tapestry and an assistant that supports MCP, such as Claude, can read your relationship memory to prep you for a meeting or find who can help. Access is read-only and off until you turn it on, and Tapestry records every access on your device before anything is read. A cloud-based assistant sends what it reads to its provider under that provider’s terms; a local assistant can keep it on your device.

Questions
Does Tapestry PRM replace ChatGPT or Claude?
No. Keep using the assistant you like for writing and thinking. Tapestry is the relationship memory it can read, with your permission.
Does Tapestry send my data to OpenAI or Anthropic?
Not on its own. Tapestry’s own features don’t use cloud AI providers. If you turn on assistant access and connect a cloud assistant, that assistant sends what it reads to its provider under the provider’s terms. A local assistant can keep it on your device.
Which assistants can read Tapestry?
Assistants that support MCP, such as Claude, through Tapestry’s read-only MCP server on your device. Support for local MCP servers varies by assistant.
